Every year the Asti Chamber of Commerce announces the National Wine Competition “Premio Douja d’Or” which, in addition to wines to D.O.C. and D.O.C.G., sees the possibility of participation also for wines with Protected Geographical Indication (I.G.P.). The call for bids is widely circulated and the wineries involved send wine samples of their most prestigious productions to Asti for quality checks.
