Later, in 1919, Bruno Zanasi was born and from a very young age was introduced to the world of agriculture- so that he could learn the trade begun by his father. In 1952, after the end of the war and imprisonment, he married. This union would produce two children: Marinella and Luigi (named in honor of his father who had by this time passed away and who now is the owner of a pig farm that produces Modena and Parma hams and a barn for the production of milk for Parmesan cheese.) In 1978, Bruno with the support of his children purchased 11 hectares of land from Count Ranuzzi dei Bianchi of Bologna. This was the beginning of a new company!
In the following years Bruno restructured the estate acquiring new land near Castelnuovo and Castelvetro. And today, working at the Zanasi Company,in addition to Marinella is her son Marco, who with the help of his wife Mara and thanks to the teachings of his grandfather Bruno guides the company and continues what his grandfather built with hard work and sacrifice. Also, his brother, Matteo, despite choosing to work in the financial sector, enthusiastically helps Marco in the family business.
This is the story that has been handed down through the years in the Zanasi family, that now enters the homes of people to share what the Zanasi family has been able to create with innovation and authenticity… The masterpiece of a lifetime, that will continue to be handed down from generation to generation.

Fertile and generous land
The vintage of the wine is determined by simple and natural elements, such as: sun, rain, snow and the personal ambition of the owner. Every row of vines grows and lives thanks to the patient care of a man that knows and loves his land and each day enhances the best fruits with passion and the tenacity of his own work.

In front of us is the highest mountain in the Apennines, Monte Cimone that gives us a microclimate perfect for producing our sparkling wines.
With a clayey soil from the Apennines, mixed with sand and with an eastern exposure, the work in the vineyard begins with a very short pruning to produce few buds, to allow the plant to give all its elixir to a few clusters. This small amount of clusters will have a concentration of a savory fragrant pulp full of flavors.
However, during the summer green pruning, we do not cut as much. We always leave the clusters uncovered but with a good amount of leaves. My grandfather always said that the leaves are the lungs of the vines.
Beneath our plants, there is the grass, there is life and there is a nutritious and important ecosystem for the plant which I want to protect.
All of the grapes are cultivated by us. Only by making wine with the grapes directly produced, following the tradition and with the constant monitoring of the entire winemaking process from the care of the rows of vines to the harvest, until the vinification, storage, aging and bottling, makes it possible to obtain my wines”

Our secret and our wisdom are in the subsequent excellent aging and refining process that takes place over a long period of time in a set of barrels from various types of woods over a long period of time.
There are three factors that characterize our Balsamic Vinegars: the land, which gives it the tradition, the people who give culture and passion and time which enriches the product with scents and aromas that have almost disappeared in this era of rapid changes.

La Collina
Castelvetro di Modena
Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro
Located at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level, thanks to its eastern exposure, that allows us to obtain grapes that will give a very fruity wine, with hints of full-bodied berried fruits with a high alcohol content.
Il Secolare
Castelnuovo Rangone
Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro
At only 90 meters above sea level, it is not the emotion of altitude that I have in my heart for the vineyard, but here there is a wealth of history with a perfect combination of clay, sand and limestone soil. A vineyard with an historic tree cultivating system, now unique to see in the province, with very few plants per hectare that give a very fragrant grape. The aromas of the explosive and complex red fruits found in the grapes of our vineyard are unique.
Il Cristo
Località Bomporto
Lambrusco di Sorbara
This area in the province of Bomporto was originally a marshy plain and it is enriched by the Secchia and Panaro rivers flowing from the Apennines which has ensured that the area is never without water. The seabed is primarily sandy, guaranteeing good drainage and is rich in potassium. This enables us to harvest a grape that guarantees a wine with a marked acidity rich in fine and elegant aromas such as rose, strawberry, pink grapefruit and orange peel.
The future vineyard
On the hill in Castelvetro di Modena
Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro
This 3 hectares of land is my first big step on my own after the legacy left to me by my grandfather. It is very exciting above all because this is an exclusive area, where Lambrusco Grasparossa of Castelvetro was discovered, an area protected by the fine arts of Bologna that oversees the landscape heritage of our area. Eroded, clayey soil is very important for the structure and intense color of the wine. Characteristics that continue to enrich my wine. At the moment it is only land but soon my vineyard will begin to grow.
